A Bit of History

In 1965, when the Felician Sisters arrived to minister at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish in Claremont, CA, a chapel was added on to an historical home on the parish grounds for their use.

On August 10, the parish moved into its newly refurbished church after spending nine months worshipping in a tent. During the rededication Mass, several relics were carried into the sanctuary and sealed into the new altar, including the relic from the old convent chapel.

The Felician Sisters may no longer live and minister at OLA, but there will always be a connection since the altar holds the relic of Saint Felix of Cantalice.
